The Revenue report offers a breakdown of revenue earned from your clinic’s various services and item sales. It outlines what services were sold and in what quantity giving you an idea of the total revenue earned within a given timeframe. It also separates deferred revenue, denoting income received but not yet recognized.
Filtering Options
To refine your results, you can filter the report with any of the following options:
- Date Range: Specify a range of dates to generate the report.
- Practitioners: Select the practitioner(s) whose data you want included in the report.
Usage Guide
To generate a Revenue report:
- From the top menu, select Reports
- On the left hand side, select Revenue
- Specify your desired filters
- Click Generate Report
Recognized Revenue
The top half of the Revenue report showcases income that has been recognized or earned within the specified timeframe. It’s broken down as follows:
- Revenue: Identifies the source of the earned revenue, differentiating between different services
- Quantity: Specifies the number of services sold within the specified timeframe
- Total Revenue: Represents the total amount earned from all of services sold
Note: The Revenue report does not factor in sales tax when calculating revenue as sales tax is not considered revenue.
Deferred Revenue
The Deferred Revenue section of the Revenue report tracks income that has been received but not yet earned. This section helps in understanding the financial obligations associated with prepayments, gift certificates, or treatment packages.
Within the Deferred Revenue section, you can find:
- Deferred Revenue: Specifies the type of deferred revenue collected, such as account credit, gift certificate, or treatment package
- Quantity: Indicates the number of account credits, gift certificates, and/or treatment packages sold
- Amount: Reflects the total amount received for the different deferred revenue types
- Amount Used: Displays the portion of the total amount that has been redeemed for invoices
- Deferred Revenue: Represents the remaining deferred revenue yet to be utilized
Note: If the Deferred Revenue section is not present, it indicates either that no deferred revenue was logged for the selected date range or that a Practitioner has been selected.
Exporting Report
After you’ve generated the desired report, you can export your report into a PDF:
- From the Revenue report page, click the Download PDF button at the top right
- If directed to a preview, select the download icon to save the file locally
To export as a CSV:
- From the Revenue report page, click the Download CSV button at the top right
- The file will automatically be saved to your computer
