Understanding email delivery statuses

Within a client's Email log, you can view the delivery statuses for all emails sent in the past 30 days.

Delivered

  • This status means the client's email provider reported the email as successfully delivered
  • If the client did not receive the email, but the status shows delivered, please ask them to check their junk or spam folders.

Opened

  • This status means the email has been received and opened

Clicked

  • This status means that a link or button within the email has been clicked

Deferred

  • This status means the receiving email provider has temporarily rejected the email
  • The email cannot immediately be delivered, but it hasn’t been completely rejected
  • Another attempt to deliver the email will be made and you can check back later to see if the status has changed

Processed

  • This status means the email has been prepared for delivery by our email provider
  • After a few minutes, the email should be sent

Sending

  • This status means that the email is being sent to the ClinicSense email provider
  • After a few minutes, the email should be sent

Failed

  • This status means the receiving email provider cannot (or will not) deliver the email
  • Failed emails could be caused by outdated email addresses or incorrectly-entered addresses
  • It may also be caused by previous spam reports, which will prevent the system from sending any more emails
  • If a spam report was done by mistake, the client can request to be removed from the spam list by emailing support@clinicsense.com

  • This status means the client has marked the email as spam
